Thought I'd share a couple interesting things I came across today in the Arizona Room at the library today.

Read another entry about the old beeline approach to Brown's Saddle simply by following the fence line. I'd read this in Kiefer's "Hiking Central Arizona" but he only vaguely mentioned it. In one of Dick and Sharon's no thrill books of the 70-90's they describe the route. This was a 1973 book.

Most interesting find of the day (probably no news to old timers but I'm a young buck) was the old Humphreys route. You followed the ski swath up to Agassiz Peak then went down the to the saddle and on the ridge to Humphreys Peak.

On a lighter note... In one of Dick and Sharon's Superstition Wilderness books (which I happen to own but guess it's more fun to thumb through in a library). Anyhow they refer to what I call Peter's Saddle as Peter's Pass, which is really more proper. Told you it was light :D

Found it cool they have old high school year books all the way back to the fifties. Man anybody that bought DEP stock in the eighties must have raked it in!
