Cumulus and smoke

Driving into work today, I could see the smoke from the Cibecue fire off the the east-northeast. Looked like a distant thunderstorm, but sadly, there was nothing on the weather radar.

It's one thing to read about the fires, but to be able to see the smoke is a completely different experience.

There was some cumulus build up behind south mountian, Im sure it won't amount to anything, but it was very exciting. 8O

Yep, smoke from a fire is one thing, especially when I seen the smoke from the Indian Fire south of Prescott. I was afraid.

Nonetheless, on a lighter note, today on the way home I thought I spotted tall tell signs of a storm cloud to the east over the Mingus. But alas when I broke out into the open of Lonesome Valley and got a clear view, it was only a cottonball worth of a could.

I talked to my daughter lastnight who went to Colo Sprgs yesterday. She said they could not only see the smoke of the Haymen fire but also an orange glow from the flames from my sister's house. It's just a bad year
