Life Insurance Sillyness

So I was updating my life insurance and the poor guy writing out the policy was having a rough time putting words to my outdoor activities for his underwriters. Has anyone else run into this? It actually jacked my premiums up. It sounded like they either wanted me to say that I "Hike on trail never further than twenty miles from civilization once or twice a year" or was an extreme backcountry savage that routinely climbed big wall in Yosemite after backpacking fifty miles in and then back out, or something. I opted for the latter because I was afraid they'd deny a claim if I fell off some old mine trail that they couldn't locate on a map, or whatever...frustrating. :?

Unfortunately you did the right thing, because they can claim you obtained coverage fraudulently by failing to disclose a pertinent risk. I'm lucky because my company-sponsored coverage is no questions asked up to a certain point.

Yea, we have something like that through work, too, but I realized it wasn't enough...
