Can someone please advise if it is permitted to camp below the tree line on My Humphrey's?
Are there places above 11,000 ft you can camp on the snow bowl side?
Thanks

The Inner Basin is always closed to camping (except of course in Lockett Meadow). On the Snowbowl side and within the rest of the Kachina Peaks Wilderness, camping is permitted below the treeline. (I've seen this listed most frequently as 11,400 feet). I know that there are several dispersed campsites along the Humphrey's and Kachina trails, and I would assume the same of the other peaks trails (Weatherford, Abineau, Bear Jaw) ... but I believe that few, if any, are above 11,000 feet.
Obviously, Snowbowl is not part of the Wilderness, but is still forest land, so I'm not sure what the rules are about camping at the higher elevations on Snowbowl-leased property. (The top of the chairlift is 11,500 feet).
I recommend checking with the Peaks Ranger District: Peaks Ranger Station, 5075 N. Highway 89, Flagstaff, Arizona 86004, (928) 526-0866

You can camp near Agassiz saddle to Fremont probably, but I'm not sure why you'd want to

I called them and they said it is fine to camp up there and they recommend 200 feet from the trail.
Thanks
