Speaking of writing and publishing...

Speaking of writing and publishing, as we have been on Rob's thread, I have a couple articles in print you can see online, if you are interested, in the White Mountain Outdoors Magazine. At the present time on the website you can see both the fall and spring. This will of course change over time.

Once you find the website you scroll down to the bottom of the home page of the newspaper, and you click on one of the two magazine covers entitled "Outdoors." To read any articles you pretty much have to click on the page numbers you want one at a time. It isn't a very good setup as there is no next button. So you read a page, go back to the sidebar, click on the next page you want.

In the fall edition, the leafy cover photo is one I took, plus the article about hiking the Little Colorado River West Fork Trail. Pages 10, 11 and 12.

In the winter edition, the article entitled "Acquiring a Sense of Yuma" is to be found on pages 16, 16 and 18.

Since we don't put links on here, you can find these magazines by Googling White Mountain Independent newspaper. Or Google wmicentral

Thanks for the articles. Looks like the website has installed 'next' buttons.

Well, that may be so, but I haven't seen them or can't figure them out.

Thanks for looking!

I take it your magazine is quarterly? I've added it to my favorites so I can check it out before the next time I go up there

Yup, it's a quarterly. It is supposed to come out right about the first day of the season, but they rarely get it together by then. In fact, sometimes they are a couple weeks late. You can find it if you are actually visiting the White Mountains by looking in the phone book for the closest White Mountain Independent office. Of course, they are open only on weekdays. You can get copies there. Also a few businesses, such as Western Drug in Springerville, keep stacks of them. They are free after the first week. (When they first come out they are inside of the newspaper.)
