Skurka's next trip

Looks like andrew skurka will be spending some time on the Hayduke trail and in the Grand Canyon for his next trip that will take him through Zion NP and Arches NP, you can go to his website for specifics

Oh man, thats the one thru hike I would love to do. I'll be checking that out for sure.

Geez you must have to stash massive amounts of water in arches and zion to thru hike it....at least from what I heard it's dry as bones out there.

You can find water there if you plan it right, most of the trails in Zion are in or around some sort of water, Arches is more dry but still some can be found in a few of the washes, and right after you come out of Arches the Coloraddy flows right through Moab, plenty of water in that there river. :p

he's carrying a golite pinnacle, says he expects to carry up to around 8 liters

8L is the minimum I would plan on being capable of carrying cross country, and skurka hikes alot farther in a day than most people.

Amen. I often start with 9l. One of my Tucson buddies routinely starts with 12.
