I'd highly recommend NOT trying to take a passenger car up FR 201. Did it in a 2WD Pathfinder a few years back, and it was cool.

I've driven my low clearance Sedan there 2 years ago I think, it was no problem. I would expect after snow and rain it could get much worse.

There are only a few spots where a passenger sedan would have trouble, but it could be tricky depending upon your tires and suspension. My Maxima? No way. My old Neon R/T? Definitely!

Has anyone been up to the Mount Peeley trailhead recently? Is there much snow on the road?

Anyone been up this road lately, since the last storm? I'd like to go in to Mt Peeley TH next week but don't like ice on the north facing slopes on the upper end.

I also want to go to Peeley, but I don't think my VW Tiguan is a good fit...

Normally, w/o Snow and ice, most cars can make it. We've been to the top in a Ford Focus!

Hmmm next week eh? Well you could borrow my Xterra, but that would involve dropping me off and picking me up in Pine the next day ;)

Doesn't seem like anybody has actually been there since the last storm, so I will simply mention that even in the most sheltered north-facing nooks there can't be much in the way of an obstacle right now (maybe mud?).

It rained at over 8000 feet last weekend and there is no snow on the ground even at 7500 feet right now (in open forest). The high point on that road is under 6200 feet. I want to say I'd be surprised if there is ANY snow at all up there, but you truly never know on some of those high elevation north-facing slopes. But this winter hasn't provided any substantial snows where there would have been deep drifts that have frozen and will be there til spring. I don't think any single snowfall in the mazzies has been over 6", and there may have been only two of those!

If it was me, I'd make the trip without any concern at all.

Anyone with recent knowledge? My wife's out of town with our high-clearance vehicle, so I'm relegated to the sedan (Honda Accord). Considering a trip to Mount Peeley this weekend, but road conditions may be the deciding factor ....

If we get that rain later this week, I wouldn't try it in a sedan.

How could there possibly be a chance of rain, if Chums and Jim have not already forewarned us. ;)

How is the forest road, Mt Peeley Summit road, to the trailhead? Does it require a high clearance 4x4 vehicle or can a RAV4 make it?

As of earlier this year, back in April or so, it was still fine for any SUV really, in my opinion, and probably with most passenger cars as well (assuming no inclement weather)
