Looking for a challenging Mog Rim day hike, not Highline or an endless forest tunnel type hike. Anybody have thoughts on the following route or suggestion for something similar in distance and AEG? I'd appreciate any insights. Tentative date of 5/2.

Milk Ranch Point Loop (Approx 19 Miles and 3600 AEG)
Turkey Trail #217 - down the Rim 1513ft, 2 miles to
Geronimo Trail # 240 - 2 miles to
Highline Trail # 31 - 8 Miles to
Pine Trail #26 up the Rim 7.7 miles 1870ft

That's a great area. Might throw in Webber Creek and West Webber Trail #228 as they're the highlight of the area IMO ;)

I definitely second this recommendation! Including these two trail descriptions and the "unofficial" Milk Point Ranch TR into a semi-loop would be a great way to spend an enjoyable and challenging day in this area. I see one nice semi-loop option here as: Start/Park at Geronimo TH- cross the road and continue on the short segment of the Highline Tr to the Geronimo Tr#240 intersection; Take #240 to it's end at the intersection of East Webber Tr#289 and hike to the end of #289 (very nice water), then return via #289 to the #289/240 intersection and turn right and hike .125mls uphill to West Webber Tr#228/Turkey Tr#217 intersection; take #228 up to intersection with "unofficial" Milk Point Ranch Tr (a post with no sign as of last year), then hike down this Milk Point Ranch Tr to its end at Geronimo Tr#240 and then hike back on #240 to your beginning TH/Parking; A great way to spend a Spring day out of the Pine area just below the Mogollon Rim
