I am hoping to do this trip this coming weekend. Late notice I know but my trip for this weekend was canceled at the last minute, and I am trying to get ready for a big trip this June, and need to get out there as much as possible.
Anyone interested in doing this trip May2-3. Hike to Taylor Cabin Sat and back out Sunday AM. I am a new Hammock Hanger, so others of the same are very welcome!

Let me know and we can cobble some plans together. I have never done this one, but it seems to be highly recommended. Even if you can't make it feel free to provide any tips on the hike if you have done it.

Thanks,

I day hiked it once several years ago, and want to do it as an overnight, but this weekend I'm heading up to Paria.

fyi Annie, there are old metal posts about 4' tall that are perfectly spaced for hangin'

of course there are many trees south of the cabin that work for hangin' too.
but the metal posts really let you stargaze, without looking thru branches and such - provide your HH can hang from a 4' height.
I went there about 3 mo. ago and water was plentiful but I think by now most of the snowfall from 2 weeks' ago is melted down into the creekbed, should be enough water there for the next couple of weeks. I'll see if I can swing this one, no promises...

te-wa,
Love to have you join the trip. Sounds like I will have to fight you for the posts, but willing to take the trees if it means I am "hanging" with the legend.. ;)

I was there about 10 days ago. Plenty of water in the creekbed south of the cabin - very, very scarce (to none) on the way in, though. You may consider caching a quart or so on the way in for consumption on the return leg (if you are headed out the same way).
We filled them all when we were there, but If there are empty water containers in the cabin, you might consider refilling them to earn 'trail points'.
