Haven't been this way in a while, was wondering if anyone has been there lately and seen if there is water on the way up to Baldy Saddle at Bellows Sp.

When I was there the first weekend of April, Bellows had a trickle - but there was still snow on some of the slopes at that point. Probably not helpful - but a chance to say hey! how's it going? and all that ;)

Bellows should be flowing pretty well but I'd bet that Baldy will be dry...

Hey Wendy! I loved your triplog about "Mr. Wendy". It sounds like he and Mr. Sirena share the enjoyment of the backcountry without the work... must have been nice to have him along. I was hoping to see you at the meetup on the 22nd but something came up, maybe the next one. What's next on your AZT plan?
And in case anyone else was wondering, I got this info from Zac Ribbing's office about water in the Santa Ritas (dated May 28):
Nogales – high elevation spring conditions – Santa Ritas
Sprung- Dry
Bellows- Good
Armour- low flow, but good (supplied crew of 11-12 for 3 weeks)
Florida- low flow, but good
Baldy- seeping (crew able to pull about 200 gallons from this spring over 2 week period)

Looks like I'll have to go and check Baldy's conditions for myself... ;)

It
was nice to have the hubby type along. Between down sleeping bags that zip together and Big Agnes pads, I've almost got him turned into a camper! (Almost ;) )
I think I'm going to try to do some of the Canelo Hills/Santa Ritas stretches during Monsoon season. I love the hills when the storms roll in...and Mr. Wendy can go fishing in the lake while I hike around. I've day hiked a few of them, but I think I might try another solo backpack (with pooch) through there. Haven't really decided, though. Too many other cool opportunities (like Santa Cruz island and my trip to Mt Jacinto) coming up lately!
I was thinking of hitting the 'Ritas myself this weekend... Want a pooch-friendly hike to wear the little girl out and get me some elevation pratice. Lots of flat hiking lately making me all soft!
