Hikers needed in 4th of July parade, Eagar/Springerville

A friend of mine is trying to get together at least 25 hikers to participate in our local 4th of July parade. His group (White Mtn. Conservation League) will have a presentation entitled "Quiet Recreation." He's looking for hikers, birders, mtn. bikers, horse riders, fisherfolk, etc. Our parade has, in recent years, been over-represented by families and groups of people on ATVs. He wants to show another point of view!
The parade starts in Eagar, on South Main Street, usually around 9 a.m. The walk is about 2 miles to the end of Springerville's Main Street (two different Main streets.)
Our towns celebrate an old-fashioned 4th of July, starting with a pancake breakfast. There is usually a 5k/10k run, and a rodeo. There is usually also a Boy Scout BBQ. We used to always have fireworks at the airport, voted best in the state more than once, but now they are held over at Lyman Lake. It is really a fun 4th of July. Unfortunately, I have to WORK that day (I work at a dude ranch, and I have to work holidays.) So I can't walk in the parade.
If you are interested, please PM me and I'll give you the guy's name and phone number.
Thanks,
Elizabeth
