Lake Kayak/Camping

Have some friends visiting from out of state in 2 weeks. Want to take them kayak camping at a valley area lake (within 2 hours of PHX). Hoping to find something scenic with a relatively secluded+quiet beach to camp on. Also looking to avoid an overly strenuous (probably around 6-7 miles or less) paddle as one member of the group is not too athletic.

Any suggestions anyone has for lakes and beaches to camp on will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Anthony

not a beach camp, but blue ridge reservoir is a nice place to kayak
there are two campgrounds nearby: rock crossing and blue ridge

Check out this thread, which recommends Canyon Lake: http://www.hikearizona.com/dex2/viewtop ... =38&t=2452

Blue Ridge Reservoir is a great recommendation! There are several spots on the lake that you can camp close to the shore, but still have the shelter of the pines. Have fun!
