I just received an email today from VOA stating that the forest service will soon be doing aerial seeding. They will be holding volunteer events for groundwork, mulching and such on July 27-28 and Aug 3-4. If you are interested go to their website to register and they will notify you on Tues. of the specifics. http://www.dgcenter.org/voa 8)

FYI, this is what we know today. You will get another announcement with details and asking you to register early next week. No need to respond to this email.

The Forest Service is doing aerial seeding in the burned areas. They need to add mulch in these areas. This is what the volunteer work will involve, maybe other stuff. Goal is to hold soil and ward off invasives. Simple not especially hard but dirty work.

We are planning on the weekend of July 27-28 & August 3-4.

We will meet with them on Monday to finish the details and recon. camping locations. etc.

We will email everyone on next Tuesday with final details.

Thank you for your attention.

I may be able to do Aug 3 and 4, I will have to see what the schedule does. I may be on the road though.

Geez, why didn't I think of that? But in order to receive an email you need to be on their list. GTG, have you ever participated in any of the events? Nice group of people. They can get a little crazy sometimes. I guess that's what keeps us all going at times! Besides VOA, didn't someone mention once about getting a group together here at HAZ and seeing if there was something we could do? How would that be coordinated? Any suggestions?

All kidding aside, please, give me something to do with my idle hands. I'm going crazy sitting in the office. I'm very interested in seeding or whatever else that will help.

I had mentioned something about this before. I have never done anything like this before and would like to get a group together to do some recovery help. I unfortunatelly will be in CA all of that week. I am sure there will be plenty to do for a while though, so maybe I can try for another date.

I received that email from VOA today too, unfortunately I'll be out of town both of those weekends :( I hope they schedule some future forest recovery projects so I can do my part to help! :)
