There is a Falcon Guide by Bruce Grubbs "Camping Arizona" that has great descriptions of North Rim Campgrounds. In addition to the NPS North Rim campground there are several others
Jacob Lake - about 50 miles north of the Rim
Demotte Park - about 25 miles north of the Rim
http://www.fs.fed.us/r3/kai/recreation/ ... otte.shtml North Kaibab Ranger District (928) 643-7395
Indian Hollow - a little west of the North Rim developed area
There is dispersed camping in the Kaibab National Forest. Availability depends on hunting seasons.
There are a couple of Backcountry Use areas with open camping but you would need a permit. Widforss or Ken Patrick
Also Toroweap - way west of the North Rim developed Area.
The cheeseburgers, New York Steak and garden salad at the Jacob Lake Inn are the best in the world after a week in the Canyon
