11.7 miles RT and 4050' AEG. I'll leave my house in Mesa at 5:30am so I should be at the TH about 7:30-8am. Anyone who wants to meet me there is welcome. I'm going to stay overnight in Green Valley and do Bog Springs the next day.

Wow, that's tempting. Need to practice with the elevation. But I also need to study for my registration exams. And, I'm afraid I'd be pretty slow in comparison. So, I think I'll stay home. :(

Have a great time, such a fun hike! Bog Springs is good, too - though something of a let down after the big show on Wrightson... Have you thought about Florida Canyon or Gardner?

I'm not all that familiar with this area, so I haven't even heard of those two areas yet. I picked these two because they're in one of my books that I'm trying to do all the hikes in. anytime I go to a new area I haven't been to yet, I pick the hikes from this book and then mark them off.

Stiller,

This hike sounds great. Unfortunately I already have plans for a north rim weekend. However, I have a friend who is interested in going with you. He is not a HAZ member so I am responding for him. He is also in Mesa. What do we need to do to connect him up for this?

Thanks,

Jade

"I pick the hikes from this book and then mark them off".... Stiller sounds like "100 Clasic Hikes in Arizona". How many have you bagged? I've been stuck on 33 for awhile. Need to do these two hikes, but at this time not up for 4053 AEG. Look forward to reading your comments.

In response to JadeEir:

I'll PM you my info. I'll be spending the night in Green Valley, so let me know if he wants to do the overnighter or just Mt. Wrightson. The room I reserved has 2 beds, so someone to help split the cost is welcome.

Yes, that's it! My wife bought me that book when were dating because she knew I was into hiking then and I had already done about 5 or so. I just got to the halfway mark, 50, this weekend. I've also done parts of two others, but as far as full completion of a described hike (or more), it's 50. Looking to moving past that milestone the next two weekends. :bigth:

This is a great wilderness and the trails are well-maintained, you'll have a blast. The monsoon storms in the Tucson basin generally build down that way, first, so you should get an afternoon show and maybe a sprinkle, as well.

JadeEir's buddy Tim is committed for this one as a dayhike, for anyone else interested who wants to carpool for the dayhike option. I'm meeting him at the Lowes on Higley north of Rt. 60 at about 5:30am.

I'll be gone early Sat. and then back Sunday probably late afternoon. I'll check here then while I'm uploading pics and writing triplogs.
