I found a camera on the east side of peak #3, w/ #1 being Brown's Peak. This is a very remote area. It appears this couple went over to an overlook then their camera bag was either forgotten or snagged off.

They summited Peak #3 (7572) at 3:55 on March 29th 2009. If you are going to this peak please check that date as there's a photo of them signing the summit log! There's a photo of a letter in the living room but the address is too blurred to make out. I think they live in Mesa. They have a knack for finding natural rock arches in Arizona.

Amazingly the camera works and the batteries still had power even after lying in the sun for an Arizona summer. I figure the lack of rain this year is a major factor. They have hiked the Little Four Peaks, Cave Trail, Boyce Thompson, Four Peaks, Superstition Ridgeline, Flatiron, Aylor's Arch, Peralta to name a few. Unfortunately none of the photo dates match any of the triplogs.

I remember a sign posted at Peralta last time I was there about a lost camera and a reward. You said they did Peralta?

Oh, I'm going to watch this thread, wouldn't it be something if we can re-unite the camera and the owners!

I didn't see a link posted on Craigs List so I posted one. It tracked back to the photoset.

My cousin on Facebook put up a similar request she got from someone who found a camera while biking in Maui at the end of July. A couple days later after the Facebook posting, the owner rec'd info from someone else and they got in touch with the finder via email. The camera and owners are now reunited.

I contacted countless members with triplogs on similar dates. No luck. Did have some interesting conversations though, perhaps random messaging should be part of my daily tasks...lol I contacted hiking clubs among other leads. No luck.

Bob and I went back and hiked the Four Peaks again on the 23rd. Approaching peak three I remembered to check the summit log. However first things first so while I downed a PB&J Bob found an entry about a month later with a phone number stating lost camera! Anybody that's hiked with Bob knows he's on the phone half the time. With nearly a dead battery he tried to contact the owner. No luck.

When I got home I left a detailed message to the Minnesota number. Not a word. Finally, now four days later, I got the call! Jo & Roger should be reunited with a gazillion photos, a working camera, seven memory cards and two extra batteries! Sweet Nelly I'm glad this worked out!
