Just finished this book. Good read. It deals with how Boulder, Colorado area encouraged wildlife to exist within the urban/suburban/exurban area. The local residents, many of whom are VERY eco-friendly, enjoy deer, rabbits, birds, etc. being in close proximity despite the animals regularly pillaging their landscaping. In fact the town as a whole encouraged wildlife.
However, cougars soon followed their prey into close proximity to humans, and became habituated. Hopefully y'all can guess that the ending of the book was not a recounting of a happy event.
Very readable book.
