I'm planning on hiking Horton Springs tomorrow morning.
Any takers? Leaving early in the morning to get there when it is not just cool - but blissfully cool.

You'll love it! I carry a little thermometer on my pack and when we were there Saturday, the temp never got above 82 and that was at the trailhead when we finished about 1:30.

If I didn't have to work I would jump right on that band wagon without a second thought. I'm sure you will like it. It's an awesome one. I am turning green with envy. All of you who have gone this week. But I just went so I shouldn't complain. Can you really have anough of a good thing?

Oh, I know it's a great hike. I've done it quite a few times - I try to go a couple times a year at least. I also always try to take someone with me who has never done it before.
Also a great place to hike into for a night stay. The waterfall is very soothing at night.

Last summer I camped there for a week. I didnt set up camp by the spring though. I camped on the other side of the hill to the east. There is a fire ring( ) so I camped by it. I did the old hammock in the tube tent routine. Worked great!

When we were there Saturday, someone had set up a camp below the spring.....and had a hammock strung up between two trees. Man, I love going to sleep to the sound of a creek

I agree evenstarx3. I absolutely love falling asleep to a creek or waterfall! I would be with ya right now olesma, that is if I wasn't at work right now.

I have done that hike before but enjoy it a lot!
