I am talking to REI about doing a slideshow presentation about my Arizona Trail hike. The woman asked if I wanted to do it at the Paradise Valley or the Tempe REI, and I said that I wasn't sure. I have only been to the Tempe location, as it is closer to Tucson.

Have people on this site seen presentations at both? Which venue did you prefer?

I've been to the Tempe location countless times, but never to Paradise Valley.

The PV location is newer, but I have no idea as to which location would be better for a location for a presentation.

The people at PV are nice especially this one particular returns guy... I've met several times :whistle:

You may want to check out the presentaion area or room at both location and see what fits what you want to do.

Tempe - it's closer to Tucson, which makes it more likely that I can go

AZT association recently did presentation at both, on consecutive evenings. The Tempe one sets up a projector and chairs in the back. It can hold 25 +/- and is fine. Not stadium quality or capacity, but it works well. I've not been to the PV location for a presentation, but like Wendy, if you are only doing it once, I vote for Tempe cuz it's closer for me.

If you can't do both, Tempe seems like a landslide. It's located more central to the entire valley not to mention out of towners. I went to the PV store once when I lived in Scottsdale, haven't been back since.

And for the Tucsonans, no need to drive up to see my presentation- I am going to be doing one at the Speedway Summit Hut on Thursday, January 14th at 8pm!

I will post the date for my Phoenix talk when I find out the details.

Well, in talking to the program coordinator, she said that I would hit different audiences at each store, so I signed up to do a talk at both locations- the current dates are March 24th at Tempe and March 25th at Paradise Valley, both at 6:30pm.

So, all that remains is to figure out what hike I am going to do in the phoenix area on my day off between talks......
