Pole Knoll Cross Country Skiing Feb. 7

Feb 7. Bad weather with bad roads cancels this event. Co-listed on ABC.
Meet me at Bashas' parking lot in Eagar, 150 N. Main St. at 9:00 a.m. with all your gear ready to go. I will teach people how to ski who don't know how, and we'll go on a short trail once you sort of get the hang of it. Experienced skiers can help teach and/or split off in a separate group and go on a longer trail. I'll stick with the newbies.
You can rent skis at the Sweat Shop a block from Bashas'. Call them to make sure they have your size boots, etc. 928-333-2950. Or at Sunrise General Store, 800-772-7669, ask for General Store. Also, long way to go, but Alpine gas station also has them.
I am trying to find out if any rentals are available in the Valley. Anyone know?
If you are driving up that same day, it will take you about 5 hours to get here from either Tucson or Phoenix, so you'll need to leave by 4 a.m. Cheapest place to stay is also where I work Sat. evenings: Reed's Lodge, 514 E Main St., Springerville, 928-333-4323.
