R.I.P

They recovered the body of the gentleman that fell 1500' from teh rim into the crater today. Lives in the area, hiked up took off his pack and a couple of layers, getting pics on the edge and the snow rim gave way. His buddy tried to catch him, but couldn't. Gotta be brutal to deal with, I think I would have nightmares for a loooong time. The even more brutal part is surviving the fall but they couldn't get to him until this morning. Heart goes out to the family and freinds

I won't knowingly step on a cornice. However, I've had a few adrenaline rushes when I got down a switchback and looked back up at what I had been hiking on. I'm sorry for his friends and family.
