Just one click, once a day, can earn the Arizona Trail $50K!
Details at http://www.aztrail.org or

http://www.blazethetrail.com/greatoutdoors/

The Arizona Trail has again been selected to compete for the Redwood Creek Greater Outdoors Project grant. Yes, Arizona Trail supporters tried very hard last year but our project came in second. Happily, contest rules have changed, but it still comes down to the project with the most votes earns top honors and the $50K.

Do you know that:

– As one of nine finalists in the 2010 Redwood Creek Greater Outdoors Project, the ATA is automatically awarded a grant of $10,000

– The top vote-getting finalist will receive $50,000

– This year’s voting is ONLINE only (i.e. no more texting)

– The contest period is longer, April 1, 2010 to August 31, 2010. Voting can be done daily.

Your daily ONLINE vote will help to win $50,000 – please vote every day.

How To Vote Every Day – From April 1, 2010 through midnight on August 31, 2010, you can vote ONLINE every day at http://www.BlazeTheTrail.com/GreatOutdoors/ for the Arizona Trail project (and please ask your friends to vote, too).

Twitterers: A pop-up appears after you vote that will take you to Twitter if you click it. Be sure to change “your favorite project” to “the Arizona Trail” in your tweet!

The Project – If the ATA wins the $50,000, the funds would help build an 11-mile reroute in the Sonoran Desert “Black Hills” passage plus help with needed trailheads and kiosks in Pima and Pinal Counties. Those Arizona Trail enhancements would be a tremendous amenity for hikers, equestrians, mountain bicyclists and all Arizona trail users.

From the AZT Newsletter . . .

We want you to be Number 131!!

Thank you to the 130 people who vote daily in the Greater Outdoors project so the Arizona Trail Association will win $50,000. Yes, 130 is the average number of votes daily for the Arizona Trail. Every vote is appreciated. But, the ATA needs you to be number 131 or number 132 or better yet, number 232. So please, if you are not voting daily, please help vote so that average will increase. If the ATA wins, the funds will be used to build new trail and install more signs and informational kiosks along the Arizona Trail. It is very easy to vote. Details are at the ATA Homepage http://www.aztrail.org

Just a reminder to vote once a day at http://www.blazethetrail.com/greatoutdoors/
The Arizona Trail is in the lead, but there is a project from Georgia that is gaining on us- everyone's help in voting to win this $50,000 is much appreciated!

The Arizona Trail is still in the lead, but the project from Georgia is very close behind. Voting goes until the end of August, and the AZT needs to have return voters to keep the lead.

Thanks to everyone who has been supporting the Arizona Trail so far- another idea is for people to tell a friend or two about voting- spread the word!

Vote early and vote often! It's the American way! (I learned that in Chicago)

Thanks for voting, everyone! Sorry, I can't tell what the standings are because Redwood Creek Winery took them off the website. Keep voting, though- it's the last month to do so.

Just a reminder- only four more days left to vote! That's four more votes that you can contribute to this worthy cause!!

http://www.blazethetrail.com/greatoutdoors/vote/

I'll post as soon as I hear the results- and thanks everyone for all their help. Even if we don't win the $50,000, the Arizona Trail Association still gets $10,000 for being a finalist. (but it sure would be awesome to take the big prize this time!! :) )
