Quartz Trail (McDowells) Sunday April 25

Sticking closer to home so I can be back home earlier for some other plans with the family. I haven't done this trail yet. The map that Scottsdale put out shows a point about 3.5 miles in where you need a permit to go farther from. Not sure what that's all about. If I can go all the way to the end, I will. If not, I'll make my way down to the Taliesin Overlook and/or maybe the Old Jeep Trail. Looking to do a quick 10 miles or so. Leaving Mesa at the ubiquitous 5:30am start time.
