Touring in the East

Well I'm through with my Maine segment and now in North Carolina. Maine was way too hot except near the coast and of course neither the cars or the house had AC. Nice hikes with some rain, and a meal where three of us had fresh lobstah off the boat, total weight 11.5 pounds for the three lobstah. We took home left overs. Most indulgent thing I've ever done and that's saying something.
Last night I showed up at my bud's house near Ashville NC at 5pm and by 6 we were, as Andy says, "Off like a prom dress" hiking to a waterfall/rockslide/swimming hole where we hiked out after dusk. Incredible flora with dogwoods, hemlock, firs and flowering shrubs of all variety. Andy's girlfriend is a botanist so between them they told me all the latin names.
Today we toured the Biltmore Estate, which trust me, was more than worth the trip just in itself, even not including the free wine tasting. Tomorrow we do hikes to the big waterfalls in "Last of the Mohicans" and Saturday off to the top of the Blue Ridge and over to the Tennessee side. Way cool....
