Hey guys and gals, my oldest son will be departing for "Boot Camp" in September, I am looking to do some domisticated camping (gear in the back of my Jeep) and I am looking at the North side of the Grand Canyon. I had found a primitive campground name Indian Hollow and it looks promising after reviewing the Kaibab NF web site. Has anyone here visited that neck of the woods?

I also camp out of a jeep, take water and extra gas. May also be hunting season so plan on other folks in the back country as well.

I think it is just a flat spot but it is right near the rim and the start of Thunder River Trail. This trail is very easy in comparison to the Bill Hall trail. If you use your binoculars there are some huge rock paintings --big ghosts--in the Supai just below you. We hiked down there one time--there is a bunch of old cowboy junk there. If it has just rained there is water in the pools on the esplanade. There is a small seep in the canyon just below the rock art--takes about 20 minutes to fill a quart bottle there. Bring your own everything--the road in is OK.
