Well, the cirque is out due to the Schultz Fire, and the weather is looking to be hot and dry tomorrow, even on the Peaks. I think I'll take advantage of that and go hike Humphrey. Anyone interested in that?

You could hike up and over to the cirque

It's closed, see that area map. The Humphrey and Weatherford Trails are open, but they basically form the western and southern boundaries of the current closure area.

So, even though it is completely harmless, you would risk the $5000 fine and hike down into the Cirque? I don't know, Joe, that Cirque is nice, but it isn't that nice, and it isn't that important to me. I was just there a month ago and I can still view it from the saddle. With the Cirque, it isn't just the destination, but the entire hike that is to be enjoyed.

I'd be interested if you were going Saturday or Sunday, but alas, I have to work tomorrow.

Depending on how things work out, I may go on Saturday, too, or just Saturday, or not at all.

I'm doing the Kachina trail tomorrow. I need to try out these new low tops on a mellow-ish trail. Perhaps I'll see you @ the Snowbowl

Jim, if you are up there on Saturday, be sure to wave at me. I'll be over on Baldy! Hope it is clear, but with all this monsoon activity, we are unlikely to see one another's mountains!
