Today is the 86th birthday of the National Park Service.

I heard this on NPR this morning, but they don't have anything on the NPS site about it.
on August 25, 1916, President Woodrow Wilson approved legislation creating the National Park Service within the Interior Department.

In your prayers tonight, remember to say thanks for Woodrow Wilson.

Not all politicians are completely worthless.

All National Parks were free today...no entrance fee :!: Of course if you're a semi-old fart like me, you pay your $10 one time fee, grab your Golden Age pass and never pay another entrance fee at any National Park or National Monument :)

I'll take care of that next time I'm at one. They'll have your picture up at each entrance as a troublemaker and rablerouser. You'll be the most wanted stinkin' mugrat.

When I went in last week, they made me show my Driver's license, 'cause "You don't look old enough to have a Golden Age pass :!: " Third time that's happened :D :D :D
Of course as I left they turn to their partner and say, "Made that old farts day, didn't I :!: "
