You might look into Tonto Creek or Chevelon Canyon. I'm not sure what Chevelon Canyon is like in the summer, though.

The Black River, or the Little Colorado, near Greer or Baldy. Some of the area is fly fishing only, some restrictions. You can hike for dozens of miles along both those rivers and their forks.

Black River - West Fork #628
Dry flies (Royal Wulf). 5wt worked ok here. Most stretches called for a 3wt.

"There's a fine line between fishing and just standing on the shore like an idiot." Steven Wright

"My father was very sure about certain matters pertaining to the universe. To him, all good things--trout as well as eternal salvation--come by grace and grace comes by art and art does not come easy." Norman Fitzroy Maclean A River Runs Through It.

"Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and you can sell him fishing equipment."

hey qmanaz - do you know that HAZ has book reviews including book reviews of fishing books. There is a lot more to HAZ than meets the eye.
If you are an avid fisherman you might want some of those books. Lee's Ferry is da bomb for trout and some great hiking up Spencer Trail or catch Horseshoe Bend.

Now I was talking trout but there is also great bass and urban fishing. You can hike around Saguaro Lake for bass or Tempe Tempe Town Lake :)

Looks like the fishing in Tempe Town Lake is going to be a little dry for a while.....
I think rlrjamy and others hiked up Babe Haught trail from the Hatchery TH (the end of the road that has the Horton Creek TH) to Knoll Lake, and did some fishing.

Another alternative is to check the weekly fishing report from Arizona Game and Fish (see http://www.azgfd.net/artman/publish/FishingReport/).

Then go to the HAZ TrailDex Map at the top of every page and zoom in on the area from the fishing report that most interests you. Then click the "hikes" link and "find hikes".

Here's an example focused on Canyon Creek. http://hikearizona.com/location_g.php?ZTN=928&Z=12&M=6
Click on the pin and it will give you the hike description.

That's a tall order. Most people hike for a while, then fish for a while. Otherwise it takes too much line, which keeps getting tangled.

Ta da, it's the Alex after Midnight show on HAZ!
Say does anyone know of a tiny bad joke icon that'll fit in with the HAZ smilies collection?
