National Parks Conservation Association Grand Canyon Report

I'm really excited.

The National Parks Conservation Association used eighteen of my Grand Canyon photos in their August 2010 Report on the Status of the Grand Canyon. You can view their work (and my work) here:
http://www.npca.org/stateoftheparks/grand_canyon/
The cover photo is from a backpacking trip with Eric (Morel) down Nankoweap. My daughter thinks it's funny that my little orange poop shovel made it into the report

TMI?
All of these photos were on HAZ before I became famous.
Eric took one of the photos, but he is letting me take credit for it. And his sister Erin was my photomodel.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit edition is still on my bucket list. ;)

Thanks. And to think I owe it all to HAZ

Joe - it's like the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Magazine - you don't read it, just look at the photos. :A1:

I found it!
Many visitors to national parks expect to experience a sense of peace and quiet that is not intruded upon by the sounds of modern life, such as noise from traffic or aircraft.
They shouldn't have put this one right after the helicopter.

that is so cool!

It really looks like a nice booklet and your photos look great. I look forward to reading it as well since I will hopefully be doing my first GC trip in November. I loved the photo of Ribbon Falls on page 76 and the Elves Chasm on page 81 is pretty amazing too.
Congratulations!

Thanks everyone.
Cindy - they found one of my "Prescribed Burn" photos on Flickr and as we emailed permissions and releases I authorized them to use any photo they wanted. I support their activity so I was happy to help. I had no idea they would use so many until the report arrived in the mail and I paged through it. I did have the photo credits to my real name not my HAZ or Flickr moniker.

The issue is noise pollution and "no-fly" zones. The battles with the flight operators are a big issue.

Congratulations. Photos will help others know why it is vital to keep the Canyon safe. Is it true you are the third Kolb Brother?
