Humpherys Hump

Going up Friday night, camping (I hope near Lockett's). Setting up car shuttle to hike up Inner Basin and down Snow Bowl. Going to drag a few ABCers along. I've never done this peak - always gotten chased down by rain/snow/lightning/etc. I'm pretty determined this time!
Getting beer and a good meal in Flagstaff (or doing an awesome campfire grill, haven't decided) and coming back to TUC on Sunday.
Anyone want to get on the train?

i totally want to go - this has been on my bucket list for a while, too. i've had the same issues with the weather! this could be a perfect way for me to get this out of the way before the photo trip in october.

I hope its just closed to vehicles

...hopefully there won't be any no trespassing signs?

The road to Lockett Meadow is going to remain closed until next year. I spoke to Brian at the Peaks Ranger District today.

I still wonder what the definition of closed is....its closed during the winter but you can still snowshoe it...thats why I was wondering.

That will depend on if they have remaining no-entry area, which we don't know probably until tomorrow.

So, if that road is closed

, what would the experts recommend as an alternate route? If they close the road but not the trail, that makes it kinda complicated, especially since we're already at a kind of ambitious itinerary for many of the participants...
Should we do Weatherford instead? Or would we be better off out-and-backing it from the Snowbowl?

Do the Humphrey Weatherford car shuffle, or the Humphrey-Weatherford-Kachina Hike. Or just the Summit Trail.
It's an area closure, so the Inner Basin is closed.
