Someone is coming from out of town to hike the Summit Trail and I'll be going with them. I thought I'd open this up to people. Start time at 0900 and probably finish at 1500 (3PM) at the latest. It should be nice, and it is usually wintry but not snow covered, so you can hike easy and enjoy winter clear views.

Indicate precisely what you mean to say
Yours sincerely, wasting away

At first I was confused, but I think this might help:

I was guessing by the above quote...you were playing on that theme. Guess I was wrong

I'm not really all that familiar with the lesser lyrics from that song.

Elizabeth, you still thinking of coming out on this?

Not sure, Jim. My entire family will be in Flag that weekend, and I do believe the main thing is we are taking my daughter-in-law to the Grand Canyon on Fri or Sat, since she has not been there. If you want to cancel the hike or make changes, don't worry about me.

I still plan to make this my 65th summit (unless I get sick), if anyone want to come out for the cold and minimal snow cover. Snowbowl reports 9 to 14 inches, so if the wind doesn't blow that away it should be a nice hike but snowshoes won't be too useful due to the rock. It is forecast to be cold on Friday, but hopefully there will be no wind. Hopefully, the road will not be closed. I just remembered about the Snowbowl Road issues that happen every year when the road is closed when it is has snowed, after business hours and before the resort opens.

Snowbowl Rd is closed and locked 1 mile up from US 180, so I can't hike this and it is canceled. It was real nice the way both the US Forest Service and Snowbowl didn't bother to update their websites to tell people the road is closed, or that they planned to close it. Gee, maybe that's why there are people locked in behind the gate?
Interestingly, as I have 64 summits on Humphrey, it looks like the mountain no longer needs me.

Whoa that is scary, the FS just up and locked the gate with people up in there? That is pretty thoughtless.

The gate is below Freidlein Prairie Rd, so they could have been out there, or at snowbowl.
