GPS map types ?

So settled on the delorme pn-60 and have just started learning how to use my map subscriptions and how to load new maps onto the handheld gps. Now trying to learn what maps are really needed to view hiking trails the best and what maps I should layer. So far have public lands 10, draw layers , DG 1m, color D0QQQ, and topo na 9. Anyone know what differences in these maps or optimal setup/map download for good view of hiking trails?
