Was unable to get five days off and had to settle for three so for my trip to the Upper Verde Valley I changed my mode on camping. Instead of taking the popup or the jeep trailer for tent camping. I stayed in a cabin at Dead Horse State Park. The cabin loop is located by itself in the park near the Verde River and the one room cabin have a full size bed, a bunk bed and table and chairs. Electricity is provided to the cabin and their is a light and a ceiling fan. Cooking is done outside and the cabin loop has its own bathroom shower building. The park offers fishing, horseback riding, hiking and mtn. biking.

I looked into that, thought it was pretty neato, but a bit expensive at 50 bucks a night.

I paid $35 last weekend to stay at Marble Canyon Lodge, off season rate, in a room with a full kitchen, (full sized stove and fridge, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishes, pots and pans.) On the phone they told me $50 but charged me only $35. Not sure why they did that, maybe because I am a repeat customer.
