Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, Happy Hanukkah, or whatever you celebrate. And here's to hiking more and finding new exciting places in 2011 (one of MY resolutions!) -Paul

A Merry and a Happy to all! (I always have said that, even before all the PC stuff came along.)
White water kayaking and rafting lessons in 2011! Plus a lot of new-to-me backpacking trips, such as Rainbow Bridge, Bill Williams Gorge, etc. Maybe can get myself onto a private Grand Canyon river trip in the summer, and finally get to see Makatamiba, etc. Hope to hike a bit more of the Tonto-Escalante-Beamer. Hope to do at least one North Rim backpack such as Nankoweap, North Bass or Deer Creek. Or Kanab Creek. I also plan to continue exploring my "new" environs: Hiking the Peaks and cinder hills, Sedona and the Verde River watershed.

Merry, Happy, whatever to all hear on HAZ!
I plan on my first 3 day and 5 day backpack in 2011 and a backpack in Colorado. Wish I had the time to do more hiking/backpacking this next year. Maybe I will make the time. Also plan on my first father/son backpack this next year.

Merry Christmas!
I am just getting ready to make an apple pie from scratch. Well, actually, from fresh apples, and flour and shortening and sugar. Yes, I do know how to make pie, despite my stated dislike of cooking in general. My crust is flaky... (Take that however you want to!)

Merry Christmas from the chilly northeast ... where that Nor'easter looks like it might be dumping snow on us tomorrow into Monday. I thought Arizona forecasters were bad. Apparently the computer models are all over the map and the options are: nothing at all to well over a foot of snow in blizzard conditions to a miserably windy rain storm. Oh well, it sure isn't a typical boring 70-degree Phoenix Christmas! Merry Merry! : rein :

Where are you at? It looks like we're in for a big hit (12"-18"), and the forecasts are fairly reliable around here.
