hey guys, im going to possibly be in tucson next friday for my correctional officer academy graduation and I want to propose to my girlfriend that night as well. I was thinking if finding a good place to take her to look at the stars or somewhere with an amazing view. any suggests in the tucson area where i could possibly make this happen? I am not 100% positive my graduation will be in tucson so suggestions in the phoenix area will work as well. thanks for the help!!!

State or county? I used to be a DO in Yuma, back in the day. Good luck!

I love romantic restaurants with great food. So here are my choices. This is her special night so make it truly magical and memorable.

TUCSON
Anthony’s in the Catalinas is at 6440 North Campbell Ave. Call ahead to 520.299.1771 as reservations are recommended.

PHOENIX
Quiessence 6106 S. 32nd St. Phoenix (602) 276-0601
Elements at The Sanctuary

I proposed to my wife at the Sunday Champagne Brunch at the Arizona Biltmore almost 30 years ago.

Do this right the first time. A Benjamin this night could save on Divorce Attorney fees later.

Windy Point up on Catalina Highway can be nice, at times, but also can be lacking in privacy. Incredible view, and you just drive right to it. There are a lot of places along Catalina Highway with incredible views, for that matter. Are you planning to hike to the view?

Maybe that's why I have so much trouble staying married. All that romance stuff gives me the willies!

You made me recall my military CS gas training at Ft Ord. We were in the gas 'chamber' room and told to put on our gas masks when we smelled the gas. The smart guys knew to put on the mask BEFORE they smelled the gas... I was and still am a rule follower and waited for the hell to hit. Eyes, nose and mouth were running! Congrats to you.

I proposed at the South Rim but that's a bit far from Tucson.

CS is awesome!

Oh, and second Sanctuary. Great food, great view, and if you have the cash, worth a special weekend stay. (Get her some spa treatments ... ;) )

p.s. I took my wife there for our wedding weekend as a surprise. (Our honeymoon was a few weeks later.) As for proposals, mine was on a golf course in Marana, at dark, with just a band of red on thw western horizon, with literally dozens of bunnys hopping about.

I agree with Kurt - right up to the Old Monkeyshine. He surprised me with that. I personally would recommend some B&B - Benedictine & Brandy. She will find that much more classy & romantic. :budrose: :sl:

I do not know where you were referring to, but you need not hike to Gates Pass - just take Speedway west out of town.

ha-ha.... Al knows that B&B is my backcountry libation, although I'm not sure if I would have had a taste for it early in life. Additionally, Old monkey has a Tucson connection. B&B IS the nectar of the gods though - thank God for those monks.

thanks again for the suggestions. my girl has been talking about horseback riding and i found a ranch called Foothills Ranch around Cottonwood that seems like it would be really fun and a cool way to propose. So im going to try to get that set up for this next weekend. Has anyone ever been to this ranch?
