Poking around, looking for topo maps, National Forest maps, trail maps online... came across this one. Does like Google maps with the satellite and terrain view, but you can toggle to a topo map for additional detail. Sweet.

Plus it shows all the wilderness areas. Thanks UM.
Anyone use the Google maps MyMap function? Pretty handy for laying out routes. Does get unstable if you overload the file, tho.

Azbackpacker,
I just discovered the site and still figuring out how to get around in it. I'd be glad to hear any tips on how to access what you're talking about.
BTW, Google Maps, Google Earth have great stuff but I've yet to find emaps of the National Forests anywhere. All googling links you to is map stores selling paper maps.
More useful than the official NF maps, are the fire maps. Taken from the quads, inch to a mile, have topo lines and roads not shown on the consumer maps. Don't know if they have them for all the forests, but where they do them are da kine. Only thing is they are big 3X5 foot piece of paper which is sometimes unhandy.

You could check out hikes in the
Blue Range Primitive Area or
Hannah Hot Springs.
You can find "area" map links for Wilderness Areas in the respective
listings. You can change the listing to FS or NPS above the listing or even the state at the top of the page.
You can select fire and game unit boundaries on the old
2007 map under
Outlined Areas.
