Need a hike location

I would like to start hiking...I'm not too inteseted in driving too far or having to pay a fee to park. What can you reccomend near Avondale?

About the closest free, real hiking is the Laveen access to South Mountain about a 40min drive

I took the Laveen access to s. Mtn. It was an excellent hike today! Thank you!
