Automagic GPS Route creation

I uploaded a GPS route for Rainbow Valley earlier today, and saw that it was indeed posted. Just returned to the site, and noticed that a piece of it had been split off as Butterfield trail. How did that happen?

Yeah, but it credited to me.

Now the HAZ HikeBot (credited to itself) has spewed another three Estrella trails ... :?

I was in the process of creating a Mapped Area for Estrella Mountain Regional Park. Several pages and routes were added.

For missing routes I either ripped from posted data or created them from scratch. When a segment of another members route is used they get the credit. If a route is created from satellite view it posts under HAZ Hikebot.

Does that mean the hike description I uploaded goes away in favor of one for each of the component segments?

That Mapped Area is for "trails". You posted a "hike" which is made up of several trails. While it doesn't fit into that map there is plenty of room on site for everything. Mapped Areas of hikes are welcome too.

Basically you posted a hike and a gps route. You ended up with credit for a hike and three gps routes...

Joe, any possibility of adding Mule Deer trail to the White Tank area? Also, on the front page, it's listed as "Phoenix Preserves - White Tanks"

Just realized the description for Pedersen Trail has it spelled "Pederson."

Maybe he's Norwegian or Danish and not Swedish? I'm betting some money that somewhere not to far back in his lineage there's a father named Peder. :)
