When up in Oak Creek about a month ago I noticed signs on the road stating the need for a 'Red Rock Pass' Can anyone tell me anything about this and how I would optain one? What exactly is it used for? Is it purchased by the day? For a month? For a year? :?:

You can get one at the Information center as you go to 89 into Oak Creek.I think it's $5. Also ,I believe 1 yr.is $20 and does not cover West Fork, West Fork is a separate deal for another fee($6) I think. There is a season pass for almost $40 (not sure) that covers all State Parks not included in pass price. There are too many people pulling off everywhere,so the pass was activated. There is a fine for not showing one; trying to control all the traffic in the area and prevent ecological damage. There's price for everything nowadays!

If you visit the Sedona area with any regularity, get the annual pass, it's much less trouble. My yearly pass budget is increasing...National Parks Pass, Red Rock Pass, State Parks Pass, Maricopa County Parks Pass (now increased to $75!)...but in the long run, you save money...
