The right way to use other's photos

I recently discovered an article in a magazine concerning the use of photos that don't belong to you. There are a lot of very good photos posted within the pages of HAZ that are OK to view, but downloading them can lead to problems if you intend to "borrow" or reuse them. This article lists some of the legal rights that are automatically assumed by the photographer and how to protect your copyright. Anyone who is serious about their photographs or is thinking about becomming serious and possibly selling their photo works should read this article.

Interesting article and thanks for sharing that. In the past, I have used others photos posted here for personal projects such as scrapbooking, calendars (for personal use) or as a screen saver but will ALWAYS ask permission first. Usually the photographer is flattered and has no objection but there have been occasions where I was denied and that's OK. I'd never use anyone's photo without permission.

Great point though and one to ponder before just downloading.
