Gun Safety Class This Sunday

This Sunday, October 13th, I am having a certified CCW instructor give a gun safety class at my place. He will be there from 12:00 PM until 4:00 PM. After the class we have range time reserved at Shooters World for an hour or so.
Any one of you are welcome to join us, so far the class attendees are Linda and myself. Steve is a very informed and entertaining instructor and I would recommend this class for anyone thinking of buying a gun, a refresher course for current gun owners or anyone with nothing to do on Sunday, looking for good edutainment.
The class is already paid for and I will not be charging anyone for it. However donations would be accepted to help defer my costs.
I'll have some sodas and water for refreshments, sorry no alcohol on this one.
If you're interested, please email me or PM me.

This is NOT a CCW class. It's a great, general, gun safety class.

Thanks,

If he gives any tips on how to twirl two six-guns at once, will you pass them along?

Sorry, this has been in the works for a while, I can't reschedule.
Nope, no twirling on this one, twirlings' for batons and drumsticks.

Thanks for the invite. I'm not able to attend but I did recently take the CCW at Caswell's. Great course and great instructor. Anyway, have fun and be safe!

Just so everyone's in the know -
We'll be at my place from noon until four, then off to Shooter's World for range time for those comfortable with it.

Good turnout so far, anyone else out there interested?

Thanks to the Alabama Geek (formerly known as GTG) for an excellent afternoon and presentation on gun safety.

You're Welcome

We had an information filled afternoon, ending up at the range for an hour of shooting. I think we all had a good time as most of us HAZers do when we get together. Hopefully we can get Steve to give us an astronomy class in the future.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for coming out,

Hey Y'ALL....Thanks GTG for hosting...I learned alot and especially enjoyed the time we spent at the range...I highly recommend anyone that plans on handling a firearm to take a CCW or a safety class. Valuable info...
Now I just need to decide what firearm works best for me..but I sure did like that 45 Glock.
But guess that would be a "backpacking light" oxymoron...?

Sande J, I carry a 45 Glock when I am hiking. It is really not that heavy, but heck who knows if I could even get it out of the pack quick enough to be effective.

On a more serious note, I have a Ruger P90 and like my Glock 21 much better. It has a little less kick and is more accurate.

Sande,
I'd suggest shooting at Caswell's on a Tuesday or Friday evening. They have a good selection of "loaner" pistols, both autoloaders and revolvers. Tuesday and Friday they don't charge lane or rental fees to the ladies. I have a Glock 17 but have fired the Kimber .45 at Caswell's. I may have to get one someday. It fires great and looks great!
