Looking for a trail for a 1 night backpacking trip.

My wife and I are about to do our first over night backpacking trip. Just one night.

I wanted something between 6-10 miles (roundtrip) and 1.5-3 in difficulty and a good water source.

So I was thinking Horton Creek would be great for us, but it seems to be closed at the moment.

I live in North Phoenix and looking for something within a 2 hour drive.

Please let me know of any suggestions.

Thanks

This is what I have come up with so far.

Barbershop Trail #191
Fred Haught Trail #141
U-Bar Trail #28

They are closer to 10-14 miles round trip but I figured we can stop any where that looks good to camp on the trail...and not do the whole thing.

What do you guys think? Any other suggestions?

Thanks

I would stick to the Houston Brothers trail. The northernmost three miles are very scenic and offer numerous possible camping spots as well as three springs that you can count on having water.
