That's happened to a lot of business, which makes no sense that I can figure. If I was a landlord, and a property cost me $3000 a month, I would rather rent it at $2500 than raise the rent to $4000 then lose my renter as a result. A $500 loss is better than a $4000 loss. (Or whatever: Use your own figures.) :?

*Especially* since vacancy rates are sky high in Phoenix. It's a business renter's market ...

Kind of an odd spot for a hiking shop relocation. Surprised they didn't move to Tempe/Scottsdale or stayed in N. Phoenix. Maybe they plan on lowering their prices and doing much more on-line business. If not they might be filing for chapter 7 soon. I live out in AJ and I think a hiking/hunting/camping/fishing/ shop might struggle but turn a buck here. I may be looking in the wrong spots but try finding; hiking pole tips, gas cannisters, coleman dual fuel lantern bags as well as replacement water filtration cannisters out this way.

failure to embrace the customer who's shopping online is a death knell. you almost HAVE to run a shipping dept. in today's consumer web world. Tempe already has 2 box stores, you'd have to be a ding-dong to show up so late to that party.

they should have moved to scottsdale.. boomers and mountains. a good combo.
s. mountain, n. phx mountain preserve, tempe area already saturated.
then again, their new location is sorta near camelback, maybe teva joe will keep them in business by himself.

Bummer that was near our house. That leaves us with REI or Sportsmans Warehouse.
On second thought that only leaves us with Sportsmans Warehouse... :(
