The Arizona Daily Sun in Flagstaff has posted this story tonight:
Snow due in Flagstaff Thursday night
By DAILY SUN STAFF azdailysun.com | Posted: Monday, October 3, 2011 2:05 pm | (0) Comments

Get ready for the first hard frost of the season and an icy commute in Flagstaff Friday morning.

The National Weather Service in Bellemont is predicting the first in-town snow of the season will fall Thursday night, with snow levels down to 6,500 feet.

The cold front will arrive late Wednesday night, with wind gusts up to 50 mph.

The high temperatures on Thursday and Friday will be 20 degrees below normal for early October, with rain and snow showers predicted both days.

For more on the story, see Tuesday's Arizona Daily Sun.

And I'd say that a little bit of snow doesn't ruin fall colors on the peaks at all:

Ouch. BTW, the snow picture shows snow at or above the treeline, not down to 5600 feet.
