2nd attempt: Picketpost eastern approach 12/21
Posted: Dec 20 2011 8:03 am
Sorry about short notice...
I was within 300' of the plateau of Picketpost approaching from the east yesterday when the weather rolled back in and I couldn't see 20' ahead so I aborted. Not one to be daunted easily I'll be going back for another shot at it on Wednesday 12/21/11.
I have one seat open in my Samurai, but if more than one would like to join in I can take my Pathfinder. So if you're an adventurous soul up to a new challenge along with the bonus to be among the first to summit from the east, feel free to join in! I'll be leaving east Mesa around 7:30 am. PM me for details (I'm headed out 4-wheeling now but will check back mid-afternoon)
Note: With the Samurai after the hike I'd take the full route back past the Ajax Mine, through Cottonwood Canyon (see petroglyphs) and out to SR 79 south of Florence Jct. With the Pathfinder, only if all participants are up for a challenging ride will I take the same full route.
