Tour of Many Mines (A day of 4-wheeling & hiking)
Posted: Dec 21 2011 5:19 pm
My hiking buddy for tomorrow received less-than-good news health-wise minutes ago and won't be able to go.
Not one to let a full day off work go to waste I'm posting another last-minute event. Yes, I know this is last minute but if anyone has as weird schedule as I have just may have the day off as well.
Here's the deal...
I'm planning on a day of 4-wheeling to as many mining sites as possible along with some hiking in the area of each and every one. Some sites I've been to, some I know their location but haven't visited yet, and lastly a few I have only sketchy information about. I'm expecting plenty of photo ops for the shutterbugs among you.
The tour will take place in the general area bordered on the west by SR79 south of Florence Jct and on the east by SR177 south of Superior.
Most of the out-of-the-way stops will require a very competent 4x4 so I will be taking my Samurai, which of course seats only 2 so it's first-come-first-served. If others are interested, either you'll need to bring your 4x4 or I'll cut out the toughest locations to reach and take my Pathfinder.
PM me for particulars. Please include phone # and I'll contact you ASAP. I'll be leaving east Mesa (Recker/University) area around 7:30 am.
