TRAIL MAINTENANCE VOLUNTEER PROJECT - WOODBURY EASTERN SUPERSTITIONS, MARCH 3-4
• DESCRIPTION: From March 3-4, 2012 volunteers will work ahead of youth conservation trail maintenance crews from JF Ranch near Woodbury Trailhead in the Eastern Superstition Wilderness to flag the trail, and trim vegetation along Trails 114 and 106 (Woodbury and JF Trails). Volunteers may work one day, March 3rd or may sleep overnight and work 2 days. The USFS will stage overnight with the volunteers near JF Headquarters (near Woodbury Trailhead)
• MEETING LOCATION/TIME: 8AM, March 3, Tonto National Forest, Mesa Ranger District, 5140 E. Ingram St, Mesa, AZ
• ALTERNATE MEETING LOCATION/TIME: 10:00AM, March 3, Woodbury Trailhead
Directions: From Phoenix, take US Route 60 past Florence Junction. Between mile posts 214 and 215, turn north on Queen Creek Road for 1.6 miles to Forest Road 357, go right (at the Y on road) on Road 357. Continue 3 miles on Road 357 to Forest Road 172. On FR 172 go left 10 miles to junction of 172A. Continue straight on FR 172 for another mile where FR 172 turns right. Continue 0.2 miles east to the Woodbury Trailhead.
• PPE: Boots, gloves, long sleeves and pants, hard-hat (for tool work if available), camping gear if staying overnight, extra socks, tools (if available), water, snacks and food.
