Need to know if anyone has traveled
FR429 to Mills Ridge Trailhead. What type of vehicle is needed? Conditions of road?

I've never been there but after casting our eyes in that direction from the Reavis Trail on Sunday, Tracey wanted to look into hiking out that way on part of the AZT soon, preferably this month.
According to the Forest Service guidelines this is what FR429 should fall under:
Recommended maintenance level: 2 - High clearance vehicles
Maintenance level description: Open to all vehicles
Recommended management description: Managed for high clearance vehicles
Obviously the actual conditions will vary depending on how long since the last maintenance, but if it wasn't too long ago, being careful I'd believe your Escape could handle it.
Seems to be a good place to put in a plug for the Forest Service maintenance crews... In general they seem to have stepped up either the frequency or level of maintenance and I've been impressed by it. (At least from my travels within Tonto National Forest)

It's easy. A Ford Escape can handle it.

It's nice to know my Escape can make both roads then, but since this is going to be a Shuttle Hike I need to know if there's something that can't be driven there. We are leaving a vehicle at Lone Pine Saddle coming from the east off 188, and then starting at the TH off FR429.
Thanks Guys! And thanks to whoever edited my FR description.....
