any body carry sutures in their kit? My mom was a veterinarian technician and I've got a pretty good supply of them. If you don't have access to sutures you can use cyanoacrylate adhesive (krazy glue). be sure to stop the bleeding first or you will not get a good bond between the two sides of the wound. maybe since this is the first post under the first aid heading I should have started with a poll on what everybody carries in their kits.

My wife's family likes to use the rakija to disinfect wounds sometimes, actually. I just find it better to drink it.

The bigger pieces of gauze work well for that too. Roll up a few pieces, put them crosswise in your mouth and bite down hard. Balboa Naval Hospital was out of anesthetic so that's what they used to set my broken arm. Gauze or fabric work well in the field when you have to work with broken bones or dislocations. I am lucky that pain doesn't affect my sphincters, just my lachrymal glands.

That gave me first and second degree burns, left a ringing in my ears and affected my sphincters so I stopped doing that.

There has been some good stuff in this thread. I learned not to use regular superglue, just the highgrade medical stuff.

Some of the stuff in those restraining orders isn't completely true Just kidding. You know you got problems when your imaginary friend gets a restraining order against you. [rimshot] I can't "go to Hell" - Satan still has that restraining order out on me. :whistle: Besides that, it wasn't hot enough in Hell so I came back to Arizona.
