Does anyone have an idea of available water along the Barnhardt - Sandy Saddle Loop this time of year? Well, in a couple of weeks. Thinking of doing that hike for a couple nights. Thanks.

I've seen water running in the stream near the top of the hill on Barnhardt at this time of year (a place that burned deeply into my memory), but I've also seen it dry. I don't remember any better sources. Probably somebody has been up there recently and can give you a better idea.

I was up Barnhardt a few weeks ago. There was a bit of water in the pool below Big Kahuna falls but it wasn't flowing. It had just rained a day or two before so I wouldn't trust any being there right now. I would also doubt there's water in Sandy Saddle Wash. If you're out in that area and need water, you can head north a half mile or so when you hit the Mazzie Divide Trail and filter at Horse Camp Seep. That spring should be reliable year round. If I'm wrong, I'm sure someone will correct me :)

Two weeks ago Sandy Saddle Wash was dry as a bone. I didn't make it over to Barnhardt. Horse Camp Seep had a few potholes of brown, buggy water and a very tiny trickle over the falls.
